Systemic Counseling

What is Systemic Counseling  and why is is helpful?

When words are found, movement often begins.

Systemic counseling creates space to pause, reflect, and gain clarity. It supports you in recognizing your own resources, strengthening self-trust, and expanding your range of choices.

Rather than offering ready-made solutions, systemic counseling works with thoughtful questions that open new perspectives. This makes sustainable change possible. Change that feels aligned with who you are and how you want to live.

Systemic counseling looks at people in the context of their relationships, life experiences, and social environments. It helps you understand patterns, roles, expectations, and inner beliefs that have often developed for good reasons.

You remain the expert of your own life. I support you in making your own insights, strengths, and possibilities more visible.

My work focus:

  • Understanding procrastination and finding ways overcoming it
  • Burnout prevention, stress reduction and coping with exhaustion
  • Learning to set boundaries and strengthening self-care
  • Chronic tension, inner restlessness and mental fatigue
  • Reflecting on performance pressure and high expectations
  • Strengthening self-worth and developing healthy boundaries
  • Gaining clarity, confidence, and orientation in decision-making
  • Building resilience and activating inner resources
  • Support during crises when things are changing and new directions are taking shape

Mediation & Conflict Resolution

There are moments when conversation is no longer enough.

We talk past each other. We repeat ourselves. We attack. We retreat.

It is no longer just about the issue at hand, but about recognition, security, and being heard.

Mediation invites us to resume the conversation.
Appreciatively. Structured. On equal terms.

As a mediator in Leipzig, I accompany individuals, couples, and teams (in person and digitally) in conflict counseling and mediation when conversations have reached an impasse or a new understanding is needed.

  • Do you have a contentious issue that you can’t seem to resolve?
  • Do you find yourselves constantly arguing, whether in a team, within your family, or in your relationship?
  • You don’t want to lose each other, but you don’t know how to start a conversation?

… then mediation may be the right solution.

Whether as a couple, family, team, or organization, mediation can help reduce tensions, change structures, and create new forms of cooperation.

Solutions instead of blaming

Conflicts are part of life, but if left unresolved, they strain relationships and reduce our quality of life. We often try to justify ourselves or go on the counterattack because we feel we are in the right. Blame often assumes harmful intent and tends to harden positions instead of opening dialogue.

In mediation, we leave this blame perspective behind.
Instead, we ask: What is really behind the conflict? What needs have not been met? And how can you find your way back to constructive cooperation?

Why mediation is worthwhile:

  • Resolve conflicts instead of letting them escalate
  • Emotional relief & healthier relationships
  • Clarity about needs and expectations
  • Constructive handling of conflicts in everyday life
  • Sustainable solutions instead of short-term compromises

»“I’ve just become aware that for thirty-six years, I was angry with your father for not meeting my needs, and now I realize that I never once clearly told him what I needed.”«

Marshall Rosenberg

What is Mediation?

Mediation is a voluntary, structured process for resolving conflicts. It helps to moderate disputes, highlight needs, and find new ways of working together.

The focus is not on who is right, but on listening to each other again and understanding each other better. Mediation opens up the possibility of looking at conflicts differently and working together to find ways that bring positive change for everyone.

Is Mediation the right next step for you?

If you would like to explore whether this approach fits your situation, please get in touch with me. We can clarify open questions, discuss the framework, and see how to proceed.

Hi, I’am Patricia.

Systemic Counselor, Mediator and Trainer for Social Justice and Radical Diversity.

I support individuals and organizations in discovering their resources and strengths in order to take the first courageous step toward change.

Change begins where we are willing to communicate honestly with ourselves and with one another.

I create spaces where understanding can grow.

Clear, direct, and grounded in deep trust in what may emerge.

About me and my workstyle

I am positioned as a white woman without visible disabilities. I grew up in western Germany and have been living in eastern Germany for over twelve years, now based in Leipzig.

Extended stays abroad have shaped my understanding of social contexts and strengthened my commitment to social justice, which guides my professional work. For more than six years, I have been working in political education, primarily in Leipzig and in rural areas of Saxony.

My work is grounded in a critical engagement with social power structures and a continuous reflection on my own position and privileges. What motivates me is the conviction that meaningful change is possible when we act with courage and shape it together.

For me, discrimination-sensitive work is not an additional aspect, but a fundamental part of my professional attitude. I never view people in isolation, but always in relation to their lived experiences, relationships, and the social structures that shape their realities.

Online Counseling or Online Mediation – digital, remote & flexible

Counseling works where presence, attention, and trust are created.

This does not require a shared physical space.

Online counseling allows our conversations to unfold in a familiar and safe environment.

This format offers flexibility in scheduling and makes it easier to integrate counseling or mediation into everyday life. At the same time, it provides a clear, confidential, and focused setting for meaningful conversations.
